Ulrich Studer
Ulrich Studer creates landscape projects in which he uses light to graphically intervene in the landscape and visualize basic geological structures. These works are limited to the duration of one night.Examples of such works include: «VINITERRA» – light drawing on the left bank of Lake Biel (2000), «RockBarock» – light installations in quarries for the Solothurn Cantonal Day at Expo (2001) and «Schiija» – light installation in the avalanche barriers above Davos (2004). In Verbindung mit diesen Projekten erstellt er Arbeiten in Malerei und Grafik. In connection with these projects, he creates works in painting and graphic art.
In 2002, he was awarded the Canton of Solothurn Prize for Landscape Art and in 2003 the Grenchen Culture Prize. In 2007, he undertook a longer study visit to the Istituto Svizzero in Venice.
