Franz Anatol Wyss
After graduating from the School of Arts and Crafts in Lucerne in 1961, Franz Anatol Wyss became a freelance artist in Zurich in 1966. Many trips to Scandinavia, Russia and Greece as well as artistic friendships – but also the Zurich Fasnacht – accompanied and shaped him intensively. In 1970, he married and soon after moved to Fulenbach with his wife Edith and their three children into the converted family home. During regular study trips to Italy, France and Germany, he continued to immerse himself in new painting techniques, but preferred colored pencils as a means of expression. In 2002, he received the Art Prize of the Canton of Solothurn. Franz Anatol Wyss turned 70 in 2010. To mark the occasion, the Olten Art Museum dedicated a retrospective to him entitled “Overview”.
