Peter Steinmann

Peter Steinmann was born in Zurich in 1956. He first trained as a structural draughtsman in Biberist/SO, then attended the School of Design in Biel and studied under Professor Shao-Kuang Ting in Los Angeles. There he learned the technique of Chinese painting. Extensive study trips took him to Italy, France, England and China. His areas of work are painting, etchings, lithographs, laser graphics, video works and video stills. Since 1981, Peter Steinmann has shown his work in countless solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Peter Steinmann has been a freelance artist since 1984. In 2006 he opened a studio in Leuzigen/BE. Peter Steinmann says of his art: “Everything flows, everything is subject to inevitable change – and all existence is in the flow of creation and decay.” Numerous works by Peter Steinmann are in public ownership or have been purchased by private individuals or companies.
