Roman Candio
Roman Candio was born and grew up in Fulenbach/SO. After working as a primary school teacher, he trained at the Lucerne School of Arts and Crafts and the Düsseldorf Art Academy. In 1991 he was awarded the Art Prize of the Canton of Solothurn. Roman Candio sees his task as organizing color as a stimulus for experience and making it visible; as a painter, he aims to create moods that trigger invigorating effects and bring his own life energy into a tangible encounter: How can everyday phenomena and contexts such as light and color be brought into emotional life? With the sound of color and the poetry that can trigger awe and amazement, with the peculiarity of color tones that cannot be explained. His paintings are thus windows into the expanded space of experience.
