Ulrich Studer
Ulrich Studer realizes landscape projects in which he graphically intervenes in the landscape with light and visualizes basic geological structures. The execution of these works is limited to the duration of one night. Examples of such works are “VINITERRA” – light drawing on the left bank of Lake Biel (2000), ‘RockBarock’ – light installations in quarries for the Solothurn Cantonal Day at the Expo (2001) or ‘Schiija’ – light installation in the avalanche barriers above Davos (2004). In connection with these projects, he creates works in painting and graphics.
In 2002 he was awarded the Canton of Solothurn Prize for Landscape Art and in 2003 the Grenchen Culture Prize. In 2007 he undertook an extended study visit to the Istituto Svizzero in Venice.
